Just before our very first trip in the trusty Suzuki, we read every article we could find and combined ever list for tools, spares and camping equipment we could lay our hands on. Because of our limited space we had to think very carefully about what we would take and what we would leave behind. On that specific trip there was not a single thing we needed and did not have, and there was very little we had and did not use.

Over the next few years our lists have grown a little, but it is still essentially based on that very first list. Obviously Diesel Engines have different parts than petrol engines, and you would need to make sure you have the tools to work on your specific vehicle.

The following lists covers everything we believe we should have for a Trans Africa trip, so you may not need to take all this for a little trip to Kruger... Feel free to print these out and work from them.
